In they first Group of fifty patients the doctors included a dose of 10g of cod liver oil daily along with their painkiller medication.For the next batch of 50 patients only placebo capsules were given along with regular painkillers.(capsules which contained just water).After three months the Painkiller medication was reduced by about 30%.It was found that 30 percent of patients in the cod liver oil was able to continuw without any need of the anti inflammatory drugs and painkillers.
Even though the official results of codliver oil usage for arthritis is not yet out to the public.Researches like this are still being done on this subject and there is no doubt that doctors will prescribe cod liver oil for arthritis patients someday soon.
